An AI voice agent costs its per-minute rate times your call minutes, plus the phone line and any fixed monthly fees. Enter your calls, the average call length and a rate to see the monthly cost and the cost per call. Preset rates come from public vendor pricing pages, fetched on 2026-10-29.
How we calculated this
Minutes per month are your calls times the average call length. The agent cost is the minutes times the per-minute rate. The phone line cost is the minutes times the phone line rate. We automatically add the preset's mandatory monthly platform fee ($299 for Bland AI Build, $0 for the other presets), then add your additional fixed monthly fees and round to the cent.
Preset rates come from public pricing pages fetched on 2026-10-29. Retell AI (retellai.com/pricing) lists $0.07 to $0.31 a minute for voice agents. Vapi (vapi.ai/pricing) lists a $0.05 a minute hosting fee plus speech, model and voice at cost, and estimates $82 to $129 for 1,000 minutes, which is $0.082 to $0.129 a minute with No Success Package ($0 monthly fee); Core is optional. Retell lists no platform fees or minimums. Bland AI (bland.ai/pricing) lists $0.14 a minute on Start and $0.12 a minute plus a $299 monthly fee on Build, with telephony billed separately.
The default phone line rate is the Twilio list price for inbound US local calls, $0.0085 a minute (twilio.com/en-us/voice/pricing/us, fetched 2026-10-29). Vapi's estimate uses Vapi telephony at no charge, so set the phone line to 0 when you use it. Synthflow shows no per-minute rate: its page says enterprise contracts start at $30,000 a year.
The estimate does not include taxes, setup work, extra concurrency or add-ons that bill per minute, such as PII removal. Retell AI says silence and hold time are billed, so use the full call length.

- Public list prices fetched on 2026-10-29 run from $0.07 a minute (Retell AI, low end) to $0.31 a minute (Retell AI, high end). Bland AI lists $0.12 to $0.14 a minute, and Vapi estimates $0.082 to $0.129 a minute with speech, model and voice included. The phone line and fixed fees can add more.
- Why is the phone line a separate input?
- Some vendors bill the phone line apart from the agent. Bland AI says telephony is billed separately, and Vapi lists Twilio transport as a charge from the provider. Other setups include the line. Enter 0 when your rate already includes it.
- What fixed fees should I add?
- The Bland AI Build preset automatically includes its $299 monthly platform fee; do not add it again. Add any other plan fees, phone numbers, extra concurrent calls and compliance add-ons. On 2026-10-29 optional Vapi Core was $29 a month, the Vapi HIPAA add-on $2,000 a month and a Twilio local number $1.15 a month.
